Cell Phones Deals
We don't ordinarily talk about Cell Phones Deals here, but we have received several inquiries from our customers about how to evaluate the best cell phones deals out there on the market these days. Some things to consider when evaluating the myriad of cell phones deals on the market are these:
Cell phone deals come in two basic categories. You can find deals for cell phones based on getting a free or highly discounted cell phone, iPhone,Blackberry,Razor,Treo etc. when you shop directly with the company providing cell phone service.
Other types of cell phones deals can be found through individual retailers when, for instance, you're seeking a replacement phone or low priced cell phone to keep from having to be locked into a long term contract. Unlocked cell phones deals that let you use the phone with a variety of service providers are popular and can be found on ebay. Buyers seeking that option should recognize that they are dealing with individual ebay sellers and they may not experience the kind of customer support they'd expect when dealing with a cell phone carrier - or they may get better support for their cell phones deals! It varies by seller and cell phone provider!
Whether you are seeking cell phones deals through a carrier or through an individual seller like these listings below, be sure you know what you're getting into. You CAN get expensive cell phones deals from carriers if you are willing to pay early termination fees. And you may not get the reliable support you need if you choose an individual vendor. Cell phones deals can work wonderfully - or terribly - either way you turn. Best wishes though on your search for cell phones deals.

Cell phones deals may involve long term contracts through major carriers. When purchasing via ebay listings please check the seller's reputation (provided by Ebay) and available buyer protection through PayPal for your cell phones deals transations. Various guarantees about your cell phones deals may be available from either a carrier or individual. Be aware of these guarantees before you purchase.
Is MagicJack A “Magic Scam”?
One blogger at least is calling "MagicJack" a Magic Scam". When you check the blog however, they're selling a competitive Voip service for $19.95 per month. No problem with that. So am I! I just don't want to rant the same way. Sometimes you have to let people make their own decisions about things like MagicJack.
There are some legitimate complaints beginning to surface however. Some are to be expected as corporate growing pains and some are a bit dumb like the first one "My computer must be on". Is that really such a problem? Oh well.
Anyway, here they are as listed here:
Of course we're not sure these things are all true or that they can't be resolved.
As I said here previously, I don't think the service will be suitable for business use. It remains to be seen how unlimited "unlimited" really is, etc.
Product cost something for a reason usually.
Vonage, Lingo, Packet 8, Voip.com, Phone Power and MyPhoneCompany and other Residential Voip providers we represent don't charge $20 or more per month when the service they offer is really profitable at $20 per year!
Part of that money is to pay for real live customer service people who are around to answer the phone when you call to get your own VoIP quote by dialling 866-GEOQUOTE Ref#: 3819. There's an extra service and customer service level that these charges support. It's not all "fat" that can be cut out.
So if you've experienced the downside of MagicJack check out one of the providers we use here!
Easy Access To Credit, Credit Cards Drying Up!
Here's the latest headline CNNMoney & Fortune Magazine: The next credit crunch Our easy access to plastic is about to dry up - and with it our ability to fake living the good life.
Last year, just as the subprime crisis happened, credit card debt took off. The home-equity ATM had been shut down, so people turned to the last source of easy money they had left, the most expensive debt on the menu, credit card borrowing.
But a big crunch is coming ...
Before the crunch hits you. You may want to protect yourself. If you there's a business credit card in your future that you need to conduct business, not just "fake the good life" then you may want to apply now while credit is easier to obtain.
While companies are still offering new cards, it's time to design your own credit card to personalize the benefits you receive.

MagicJack Compared With Skype and Voip

MagicJack is similiar to Skype and other VOIP products, but in many ways much simpler.
I write this as a Skype customer who continues to use the service but finds myself very interested in MagicJack.
Skype can be confusing at first. It's "free" ... until you want to call a real phone. Then for unlimited US/Canada calls you're paying about $36 per years. And with Skype you can't call 911. That's why some people call Magic Jack the "Skype killer" (and even a "Vonage Killer" because there's no download, no extra equipment like headsets and microphones to have, etc. And with MagicJack you can even call 911.
As a side note, I don't think Skype's voice quality varies between crystal clear and choppy. Some of the paid services sound more like "real phones" to me. At times, I've had to just get off Skype and call on a landline or cell phone. That's bad if you're using the service for your business lifeline! I wonder if MagicJack will have the same problems? My brother's Vonage service has never had the same problems that I can tell. That's why there's a place for many other residential Voip packages unless MagicJack is REALLY GOOD. We'll see how it fares in the market.
MagicJack is $40 the first year for "unlimited" usage and $20 in following years... at least for now. So it's really not much more expensive than an unlimited calling Skype account. It's MUCH cheaper than the $20 to $25 you pay monthly for Vonage and other similiar services because, with them, you're getting lots of services you won't get with MagicJack.
To make MagicJack work, you only need any analog phone with a plug in jack and access to your high speed internet connection, and MagicJack of course!
You plug your phone into MagicJack. You plug MagicJack into your computer with high speed internet connection and then you dial like normal. Oh, and then you talk of course!
But because all the software is in the "jack" you never have to set anything up on your computer. It's great for people who think that if they touch a computer the wrong way, it will explode. Even if they jacked up the cost to $40 per year afterwards, it would still be a bargain for most residential users.
To be honest, Skype is now able to be used on home phones and cell phones which are properly programmed. These phones (unlike a MagicJack enabled phone) have the capacity to use ordinary landlines or wireless phone systems at the touch of a button. I don't know about you, but if my internet goes down, I'd still like a phone for emergencies. While these phones are an extra cost, the home phone you plug into MagicJack will break down some day too, so I don't consider this expense to make Skype more usable too much of a long term problem.
You can even take the MagicJack with you wherever you go and use hotel phones as long as they have plug in jacks (i.e. anywhere in the known world mostly).
Of course the big con is ... what does "unlimited" really mean?
Skype is honest and says it's 10,000 minutes per month.
That's fine for most users ... they will only use that in emergencies. But home business people and folks needing business voip services will probably run afoul of these limits.
Need Voice Mail? Faxing? Caller ID? and other amenities you may be used to? You may want another VOIP package like Skype.
But for plain old voice calling, MagicJack will help the technically impaired never have to worry about even downloading Skype or checking other voip programs for now.
