Is MagicJack A “Magic Scam”?
One blogger at least is calling "MagicJack" a Magic Scam". When you check the blog however, they're selling a competitive Voip service for $19.95 per month. No problem with that. So am I! I just don't want to rant the same way. Sometimes you have to let people make their own decisions about things like MagicJack.
There are some legitimate complaints beginning to surface however. Some are to be expected as corporate growing pains and some are a bit dumb like the first one "My computer must be on". Is that really such a problem? Oh well.
Anyway, here they are as listed here:
Of course we're not sure these things are all true or that they can't be resolved.
As I said here previously, I don't think the service will be suitable for business use. It remains to be seen how unlimited "unlimited" really is, etc.
Product cost something for a reason usually.
Vonage, Lingo, Packet 8, Voip.com, Phone Power and MyPhoneCompany and other Residential Voip providers we represent don't charge $20 or more per month when the service they offer is really profitable at $20 per year!
Part of that money is to pay for real live customer service people who are around to answer the phone when you call to get your own VoIP quote by dialling 866-GEOQUOTE Ref#: 3819. There's an extra service and customer service level that these charges support. It's not all "fat" that can be cut out.
So if you've experienced the downside of MagicJack check out one of the providers we use here!
